Kendall Academy Preschool is looking for a Teacher Floater to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Floater Teacher is responsible for implementing classroom activities either in the absence of a teacher and/or co-teacher or on a daily basis, as needed. The Floater Teacher will aid in the implementation of the daily schedule and routine, developing nurturing relationships, and ensuring the safety, security, and supervision of children.

Job Duties:

  • Use daily classroom activities assigned by the teacher and routines as opportunities to promote children’s social, emotional, language, cognitive, and physical development.
  • Be on time every day with good attendance.
  • Provide a nurturing and positive environment for all students.
  • Maintain consistent supervision of all students.
  • Work as part of an educational team to provide a safe and welcoming environment.
  • Assist teachers in the implementation of a structured classroom environment during children's lunch and nap time by following classroom policies and procedures to always ensure the safety of the students.
  • Always maintain required teacher-child ratios in the classroom.
  • Report all staffing and classroom concerns to the supervisor in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or higher
  • Authorized to work in the US.
  • Speak, read, and write English.
  • Willing to undertake training.
  • Be on time with good attendance.
  • Be patient and flexible.
  • Be able to interact with children.
  • This job requires being on your feet, moving, or sitting for up to 4-5 hours a day.
  • Ability to move, assist, and lift children.
  • Ability to lift 35 lbs.
  • Ability to move, walk, lift, bend, stretch, and use hands, arms, legs and feet.
  • Able to pass a DCF fingerprint, background check, and drug screen.

Salary: $16.00 to 18.00 per hour

Schedule: Part-Time and Full-Time | Monday - Friday
